FAQ
Our solution
Who is Evolium Technologies?
Evolium Technologies is a company specializing in the reuse of batteries from electric micro-mobility, transforming them into energy storage systems dedicated to renewable energies. We are developing an innovative solution integrating automated disassembly, intelligent sorting and modular battery assembly.
How does your recycling and reuse solution work?
Our technology makes it possible to safely dismantle used batteries, assess their residual capacity using automated tests, and reassemble high-performance cells into new energy storage modules. These second-life batteries offer a sustainable, cost-effective alternative for renewable energy storage.
Second-life cells: is it really reliable?
Yes! Our batteries are made from carefully selected and tested cells to guarantee performance and durability.
– Rigorous selection: we discard around 30% of the cells tested to guarantee only the best performance.
– Advanced technology: Our expertise enables us to assemble homogeneous modules, ensuring their efficiency and stability.
– Continuous monitoring: Our batteries are monitored in real time, and we guarantee replacement in the event of a drop in performance.
– Performance tailored to solar storage: second-life cells are perfectly suited to photovoltaic storage needs, avoiding the extraction of new raw materials and preserving these resources for applications such as mobility.
Capacity guarantee: how is it possible?
We guarantee storage capacity through daily monitoring:
– Continuously monitored batteries: you can access your battery’s performance directly on its monitoring screen.
– Secure subscription model: unlike traditional batteries, which degrade without guarantee, our subscription model guarantees you a fixed capacity over time.
How long do your batteries and modules last?
Our batteries are repairable and therefore capacity-guaranteed for life through a subscription model. They are remotely monitored so we can notify you when a module needs changing.
The lifetime of a module depends on the cells it contains. It is therefore different for each module. Careful selection and sorting of cells means that our modules can last for dozens of months before needing to be replaced.
Who is your solution aimed at?

– Companies and communities: for storage solutions tailored to industrial and commercial needs, contact us directly.
– Installers and distributors: if you want to offer your customers a sustainable alternative, contact us. We look forward to offering you a solution for your customers.
The batteries
Why add a battery to my photovoltaic system?
Installing a battery optimizes the use of your solar production and reinforces your energy independence.
– Optimizing self-consumption: the Evolium battery stores excess solar energy for later use.
– Reduced dependence on the grid: Electricity prices in Switzerland are now indexed to the European market, with dynamic pricing. In January 2025, the Federal Council confirmed the introduction of dynamic pricing for Swiss consumers, enabling suppliers to bill electricity according to fluctuations in the wholesale market. This measure is intended to encourage more flexible consumption and better integrate renewable energies. However, it means that electricity prices can fluctuate sharply, making self-consumption with batteries more advantageous to avoid buying electricity at peak times.
– Protection against falling feed-in tariffs: The Federal Council has also set a minimum feed-in tariff for photovoltaic electricity fed into the grid, but this tariff is gradually being reduced. This reduces the profitability of electricity resale and reinforces the interest of batteries as a cost-effective solution for maximizing self-consumption.
– Support for local energy and Local Energy Communities (LECs): By storing and consuming your own energy, you’re part of a sustainable, local energy transition – you can even sell it directly to your neighbors!
In the event of a power outage, can the battery continue to operate and supply power to the house?
Our first model, which has its own inverter, won’t work in the event of a power outage. We’re developing a second model, which will connect directly to the existing inverter. In this case, it will depend on the inverter model.
Financially speaking, why choose an Evolium battery?
– Reduced initial investment: Our model gives homeowners access to a high-performance solution without a prohibitive purchase price.
– Stable, predictable price: With our capacity guarantee at a fixed price, you benefit from controlled storage costs.
– Comparison with other batteries: Conventional batteries lose several percent of their capacity per year, increasing the cost of residual storage. In the long term, this can make buying from/reselling to the grid more attractive than using the battery.
New batteries are coming down in price. Should I wait?
The market is heavily influenced by subsidies. Lower prices for new batteries are mainly due to massive subsidies granted to foreign manufacturers, making it difficult for Swiss and European companies to compete. Choosing Evolium means making a sustainable and secure choice:
– Store energy today with a solution that guarantees long-term capacity.
– Support the local circular economy and encourage Swiss innovation.
– Reduce your environmental footprint by giving batteries a second life, while benefiting from a reliable, high-performance solution.
Our different models
What are the features of your first model?
Our first battery model has a storage capacity of 10 kWh and dimensions of 57 x 54 x 60 cm (height x width x depth). It operates in single-phase, has its own inverter and plugs into a simple T13 socket. Find all the features of this model on this page: Our batteries
Do you have batteries with a storage capacity greater than 10 kWh?
For the time being, our first model is only available with a storage capacity of 10 kWh. In the long term, the capacity of the various models will be configurable to best suit your installation.
Which photovoltaic installations are your batteries compatible with?
Our first model has a built-in inverter, so it can be connected to any existing installation, even if your inverter can’t accommodate a battery.
Which models are planned next?
We’re working on a second model that will connect and communicate directly with existing inverters, which are already designed to accommodate a battery. On this model, three-phase operation will be possible. This model is scheduled for the second half of 2025.
